Dispersed settlement
Individual buildings, spread out around an area, no obvious centre.
Usually farmhouses, with space between for farming.
Nucleated settlement
Buildings are grouped close together, for trade, and often have a central market square.
Linear settlement
Buildings are along a road, valley/coast to give them good access (along the roads) to trade with passing travellers.
