Describe to me what a hamlet is, as well as its function.
It is a small cluster of houses. It usually has no functions although possibly with a post box.
Describe to me what a village is, as well as its function.
A village can vary in size, but it usually has up to a few thousand people. Its function could be either a shop, church, post office, a village hall and possibly a primary school.

it has a population of several tens of thousands of people. Its function is the same as a village’s but they have chain stores and other famous shops. They may have a railway station, hospital, sports centre and secondary schools.
Describe to me what a city is, as well as its function.
A city has a population of more than 100,000 people (with the exception of some “Cathedral Cities”). Their functions are the same as the town’s, the hamlet’s and the village’s. It may also have a large shopping centre, railway station, theatre and possibly an airport.
