Safeguarding definition
A process of making sure the groups that more vulnerable than others are prevented from being expoed to abuse, neglect and exploitation

Protection of the vulnerable, confidentiality, whistleblowing, awareness, risk, legislation, policy and procedure

People being supported and encouraged to make their own decisions and informed consent

Local solutions through services working with their communities. Communities have a part to play in preventing, detecting and reporting abuse/neglect
What is meant by accountability under the care act 2014
Transparency in safeguarding practice, owning up to your actions and accepting the consequences
What happens if legislation, policies and procedures are not followed
Legislation, policies and procedures are in place to keep both patient and staff safe, if they aren’t followed correctly accidents happen and people may be injured or mistreated
