Clinical Sign

Causes:

A

Motor and parasympathetic

  • Levator palpebrae superioris/extra ocular muscles
  • Sphincter pupillae (parasymp. fibres) - pupil size

‘Down and Out’
Ptosis

Microvascular ischaemia (pupil sparing, vasa nervosum)
PCA aneurysm and tentorial herniation (secondary to increased ICP)
