Q

What is gram staining?

A

Gram staining is a form of bacterial testing that allows us to identify certain bacterial microorganisms.

Bacteria are either gram positive or gram negative.

Gram positive is blue.

Gram negative is red (these tend to be more dangerous) this is due to the presence of the endotoxin, lipopolysaccharide, which is highly toxic and encapsulates the bacteria.
