Session 1 - Renal Reabsorption And Secretion - Epithelial Transport Flashcards

1
Q

How does primary active transport occur in the nephron?

A

Via ATPases

Apical membrane:
- H+ATPase (pumps H+) out

Basolateral membrane:

  • Na/K ATPase (pumps Na+ out, K+ in)
  • PMCA (plasma membrane calcium pump) (pumps Ca2+ out)
