Who serves
Any person who is at least 18 and not a party may serve
Service of Process (Individual)
Individual may be served by personal service - service left at D usual place if abode with one or suitable age and discretion residing therein, or service upon an authorized agent of D.
State service rules: alternatively service may be made in ways provided by state rules.
Service of Process (Corporations)
Corporations can be served by serving an officer, a managing or general agent, or authorized agent of the corporation.
State service rules: alternatively service may be made in ways provided by state rules.
Service of Process (Minors/Incompetents)
Must be served in accordance with state rules
Waiver of Service
D may request waiver by mailing formal request to waive service,
Two copies of waiver form and copy of complaint.
D has 30 days (60 outside U.S.) from date request sent to return waiver.
