What are two sources of law?

A

U.S. Constitution + Rule or Statute.

  1. Divorce, maintenance, or annulment, if ∆ resides out of state or cannot be located within the state
  2. Cases against nonresident individual or out of state corporation w/ in-state property/debt sought to be taken
  3. Cases about in-state property, if ∆ resides out of state or cannot be located w/i the state or if ∆ is an out of state corporation
  4. ∆ has left state to avoid
  5. ∆s are unknown heirs or executors, unknown corporate directors, etc.

If service is effected within time limit but is LATER deemed defective, π has 90 more days (plus 30 for good cause) to serve and still be within statute of limitations, if served in good faith the first time
