Sequential Logic Flashcards
1
Q
What are Combinational Logic Circuits?
A
Their outputs are formed from some combination of their present inputs
2
Q
What are Sequential circuits?
A
Their outputs depend upon the past history of their inputs
3
Q
What is the difference between combinational and sequential circuits?
A
Combinational circuits do not have any memory. Sequential circuits exhibit memory properties
4
Q
Describe a basic bistable circuit
A
- Uses positive feedback from output to input
- The input signal is inverted twice and fed back to the output
- This makes the circuit have two stable states: X high and Y low or X low and Y high
