Sepsis Alert criteria? Must meet ALL

A
  • Adult and NOT pregnant
  • Suspected infection or documented
  • At Least TWO POINTS with Max of 3
    • Hypotension sys less than 90 mmHg
    • AMS, GCS less than 14
    • RR greater than 22 or ETCo2 less than 25 mmHg

Fluid replacement for Sepsis?

A

1 liter NS regardless of BP and re-assess lung sounds and BP.
- Must repeat 1x if time permits Max 2 Liters
*** Warning becareful with CHF, renal failure and CAD

A

Broad spectrum antibiotic Cephalosporin. Effective against Gram positive and Gram negative.

  • Dosage 2 gm in 50 ml over 10 min 10 gtt set

A

Allergies to Cephalosporins antibiotics. (Ancef, Ceclor, Keflex)
DO NOT administer to PED’s

A

Epi 1:100,000 titrate 0.1 mg (10mL) at a rate of 1 ml/min IV/O. Maintain BP greater than 90 systolic
