Meaning of pure
A pur substance is a subsatnce that is made up of just one substance. It only has one melting point and 1 bioling point.
What is an element?
A type of atom.
What is a compound?
2 or more types of atoms chemically bonded.
What is a mixture?
2 or more substances non-chemically bonded.
What is a formulation?
A mixture that has been designed to produce a useful product.
Give examples of a formulation.
Medicinal products, detergent, water to thin out a mixture, colouring fragrance.
What is a solvent?
A substance that can dissolve a solute.
What is a solute?
A substance that can be dissolved in a solvent.
What is solubility?
The degree to which a substance dissolves in a solvent to make a solution.
What is a saturated solution?
A solution that has dissolved the most amount of solute possible.
