Q

What is filtration?

A

Separating a solid from another solid.

Eg.. Grind the rock salt, dissolve into water, filter it using filter paper and a funnel, and evaporate it, it should leave the salt.

Q

What is distillation?

A

Separates liquids from solids, e.g. Salt water

Mixture is heated in a flask, the water evaporates off to form a gas.
Gas is cooled and turns back to liquid in a condenser.
The liquid water is collected in a beaker.
The salt is left behind in the flask.
