Simple Sentence
Simple Sentence - Simple sentences contain a subject and a verb. Is an independent clause.
Example - I like Burgers.
Compound Sentence
Compound Sentence - Compound sentences contain two or more independent clauses. They are joined by a coordinating conjunction.
Example - Jessica ran and Arthur slipped.
Complex Sentence
Complex Sentence - Complex sentences contain at least one independent clause and one dependent clause.
Example - Arthur slipped because he fell in a puddle.
Compound-Complex
Compound-Complex - Compound-complex sentences contain at least two independent clauses and one dependent clause.
Example - Jack travelled by train, but he did not arrive on time because the line had been blocked by a fallen tree.
