Subordinate Clauses are also called:
Dependent Clause
a clause that modifies a noun or a pronoun by telling what kind or which
Adjectival Clause (Dependent Clause)
a clause that modifies an adjective, a verb and another adverb
Adverb Clause (Dependent Clause)
The lady, we called for justice, won the case.
Adjective Clause
He spoke as if he were telling the truth
Adverb Clause
A sentence composed of one independent clause
Simple Sentence
It is made up of two or more simple sentences. It is usually connected by a comma plus a coordinator (For, And, Nor, But, Or, Yet, So)
Compound Sentence
It is made up of a simple sentence, and a clause that begins with a subordinator
Complex Sentence
It is made up of two or more simple sentences and or more subordinating (dependent) clause
