How does Imperitive 2nd person SINGULAR INFORMAL conjugate
It takes the stem of the verb and drops the -st
Example:
geben - to give
gibst = gib
When to use Imperitive
- Giving commands
- Giving Advise
- Offering encouragement
(you should do it) - Giving instructions
- Responding to rudeness
(be quiet, get lost, dont do
that)
When to use Imperitive 2nd person plural informal
- When addressing a group of people informally
= the form stays the same BUT drop the “ihr”
When to use 2nd Person singular and plural …formal
In the same das, when addressing an individual or a group formally, how come after the verbs.
Use the present tense form BUT with the pronoun Sie
Example:
Sie geben mir das Buch.. Give me the book.
Geben Sie mir das Buch!
When to use Imperitive 1st person plural
Use when addressing a group that includes myself
In its simplist form, it behaves exactly like the formal Version of 2nd infinitive form of the verb
so… wir comes etter die Person sigular/ plural
Example:
Wir lesen. We read
Lesen wir! Let’s read!
Exceptions for Imperitive
Verbs ending in: - s - z - x - ß For these only the - t is removed from the present tense form.....NOT the whole -st
Example:
Du sitzt.
