A word that modifies a noun or pronoun

What is an adverb
A word that modifies a verb, adjective, another adverb, or an entire clause
Preposition
A word or phrase before a noun or pronoun and indicates a grammatical relation to another word in the sentence.
ie in, to, in regard to, for
What is a Faulty Predicate
When the subject and the predicate are not logically linked.
ex. The main goal of the research department is cancer
=> The main focus of the research department is cancer
Fix this sentence:

What is perfect tense?
It indicates an event that happened before an event in he simple tense.
Ex. Past Simple and Past Perfect
Jo discovered that Leslie had lied to her
Punctuation - Comma
Used to link to independent clauses with a conjunction:
Being unemployed can be difficult for anyone, but John was having a particularly hard time with it.
NOT to link to subordinate clauses with a conjunction:
John moved into the neighborhood only a few weeks ago but has already been invited to several parties.
Punctuation - Semicolon
Used to link independent clauses, or for linking things in a series.
Ex John wanted to keep the money he found in the briefcase; his conscience made him return it.
Punctuation - Colon
Used to introduce something that gives more information or clarifies what preceded the colon.
The scheme was both enormous and complex: it took experts over two years to account for all the funds.
Parallelism
items in a series or on either side of a construction must have the same form.
Ex. On his recent vacation, Clark visited Spain and France, and spent an afternoon in Blegium.
Ex. John will either win a million dollars or walk away with nothing.
