What is pain?
Tissue injury that promotes the release of chemicals that stimulate the pain receptors
What is accommodation in vision?
Change in the thickness of the lens for near vision
What is otitis media?
Infection of the middle ear
What are the crystalline lens?
circular structure in front of the eye. They change in thickness for near and far vision.
What is the vitreous humor?
clear, colorless fluid that fills the space between the lens and retina of the eye. IT is a gel like substance that ensures the retina receives adequate blood supply.
What are errors of refraction?
Myopia- nearsighted, farsightedness and astigmatism.
What is the definition of ossicles?
They are small bones of the middle ear
Name the three ossicles in the ear
Stapes, incus, malleus
What is ptosis?
Known as droopy eyelids
What is the occipital lobe?
Part of the cerebrum, concerned with vision.
What are semicircular canals?
three semicircular, interconnected tubes located in the inner ear, they are related to balance.
What is the temporal lobe?
Part of the cerebrum, concerned with hearing.
