Description of a sense
Equilibrium: Helps child with balance and walk with grace.
Stereognostic: child learns through his hands to percieve size and shapes of objects. Ex: Sorting, Mystery Bag, Geometric solids.
Chromatic: Child learns to percieve differences between primary anf secondary, as well as the various graduations of each. Ex: Color tablets.
Explain the purpose or direct aim of pink cubes.
aims to refine a child’s visual sense by discriminating differences in dimension. As a child starts taking each cube (starting from the smallest) to a mat, they can feel the weight and progression of its size.
Gustatory Lesson:
Salty: Salt Water/Pretzel
Bitter:Cranberrry Juice/Orange
Sour: Lemon Juice/Pickle
Sweet: Honey/Chocolate
Solid:
Skilled Observers: How do the sensorial materials achieve this
As children are presented the materials and as they manipulate it themselves they will learn that each work has a control of error. IF it is not done correctly they will use their observing skills and go back to self correct.
How do the knobbed cylinders have perfect control of error?
Each knobbed cylinder has a corresponding sized hole it fits into. One can not ever fit into another so the child can self correct.

Benefits of walking heel to toe
helps children to develop essential skills such as balance, coordination, and control of movement, as well as a sense of order and discipline
