What is a sensitivity label?
A Microsoft Information Protection solution that lets you classify and protect your organization’s data while ensuring availability to your end-users.
What are the attributes of sensitivity labels?
Sensitivity labels are Customizable as you can create categories for different levels of sensitive content, clear text and persistent as the label roams with the content.
What can sensitivity labels do?
Apply encryption and specify which users and groups can decrypt and fine-tune permissions.
Mark content by adding watermarks (documents only), headers and footers.
Protect content in containers such as sites and groups
Apply the label automatically to files and emails, or recommend a label.
Extend sensitivity labels to third-party apps and services
Classify content without using any protection settings
Where can you see the distribution of sensitive labels?
In the M365 Compliance Center under classification. The distribution can be displayed by content (files) or locations (service(?), e.g. SharePoint online)
