Sensit Gold G2 Flashcards
Sensitivity
1 ppm to 100% by volume
What gas is Sensit Gold G2 calibrated to?
Natural Gas
How does the auto scale work?
It automatically increases from:
Ppm to %LEL to % by volume (concentrations above 100% LEL)
When is “tick” mode used?
To determine leak source
Natural gas qualities
Primarily methane
Lighter than air
LEL: 5.3%
UEL: 14%
What is Sensit calibrated to?
Methane, so reading require no conversion
Sensit Vs Altair
Sensit is calibrated to methane and does not require a conversion vs Altair requires conversion of double to read natural gas accurately
Sensit has greater resolution: 1 ppm vs 1% LEL of Altair
Sensit reads above UEL (14%) vs Altair will not
When to use Sensit?
High IOS Natural gas involvement
Quantifies natural gas and locates leaks in TICK mode
When to use Altair 5x
CO Alarms
Unknown odors
Confined space
Natural gas with Sensit
Sensit Color scaling
Green = <1% of LEL
Yellow = 1% of LEL to 100% LEL
Red = >100% LEL
Yellow reads as how close to LEL gas is in the atmosphere
RED reads as % by volume in atmosphere
When calibrating the Sensit with 2.5% calibration gas what are the readings it will give you?
25,000 ppm = 50% LEL = 2.5% volume
When calibrating the Sensit with 100% methane gas what are the readings it will give you?
It will scale up from ppm to %LEL to % by volume
When the Sensit reads 10% LEL what does the Altair 5-gas read? Why?
Altair 5 gas reads 20% LEL because of the .5 correction factor
What does button A do?
Operates power, mute feature, and exit menu items
What does B button do?
Operates the tick rate control, enters, changes, selects menu items
