coup d’état
a sudden overthrow of a government by a group of persons in or previously in positions of authority in deliberate violation of constitutional forms
glasnost
In the former Soviet Union, the policy of more open, consultative government and wider dissemination of information, initiated by leader Mikhail Gorbachev from 1985.

A recurring element or idea that can help develop theme in a literary work
Soliloquy
The character speaks alone, and the audience “overhears” his or her inner thoughts
Allusion
A reference in one literary work to another literary work
