What are responsibilities?
Moral or legal obligations or duties
What is the relation between Rights and Responsibilities?
For every right there is a corresponding responsibility. For example, right to education means state has duty to provide public schools.
What is the legal definition of a child?
“Child” refers to someone aged 15 years or younger
What is the legal definition for someone aged 16-18?
“Young person”
What is “doli incapax”?
The principle that no person under the age of 10 can be guilty of a criminal offence.
What must be proved in a case involving someone aged between 10 and 14?
The prosecution must prove the accused knew right from wrong.
In a case involving 14-17 year olds, what is the level of doli incapax?
Those aged 14-17 are held fully responsible for their actions, buy are subjected to a different range of sanctions.
What are rights?
Entitlements based on moral or legal authority
