DRSABCD

A

Danger - Remove any danger to yourself, bystanders, then casualty. Put on gloves if possible

Response - Check level of consciousness by asking questions. If response, check for other injuries and bleeding. Otherwise proceed.

Send for help - Dial 000. State clearly what is required and give specific information

Airway - Roll casualty onto their side if foreign material is present in the mouth. Open the mouth and check for foreign matter, then clear airway by gently supporting jaw and tilting chin forward.

Breathing - Look for signs of life (chest or abdomen rising and falling?) Listen for sound of air, feel for air from chest or mouth and nose.

CPR - If unconscious, not breathing, and no signs of life, 30 chest compressions followed by two breaths. Five sets in two minutes. 100bpm.

Defibrillation - If AED is available, use it ASAP by following the instructions. Continue CPR after defibrillated.
