What is the meaning of process?
A systematic series of actions directed to some end.
What is the meaning of high quality?
Adhering to an excellent standard.
What is the meaning of client/end user?
A customer/some one you are offering your services or skills to.
What is the meaning of design brief?
A document for a design project, developed by a person or team, in consultation with the client. it outlines the scope of the project, including function and aesthetics.
What is the meaning of a visualisation/thumbnail drawing?
A mental image, portrayed in anyway and influenced by anything.
What is the meaning of a chosen concept?
An idea, in which you have chosen to follow and/or achieve.
What is the meaning of evaluation?
To look over something and discuss what has been done, how its been done and what would change.
What is the meaning of aesthetic?
A particular individuals ideas about styles and taste, along with its expressions. A theme.
What is a hazard?
An object or an action that can inflict harm or damage on someone.
What is risk management?
Identification of risks, and the procedure on how to minimise their impact.
What are timber properties?
The characteristics in which the timber holds. eg. grain, knots, colour, density, smell etc.
What is the meaning of function?
The way something is designed to move, produce or preform its role.
What is veneer?
A thin decorative covering of wood, applied to a coarser wood or another material.
Technology Process Wheel 1. Investigating and defining.
Critiquing,exploring and investigating needs, opportunities and information. Look at the intention and purpose of the operation. respond with design briefs that meet with the needs and opportunities.
Technology Process Wheel 2. Design and Development.
Designing the product through visualisations, and developing those ideas to meet the clients brief.
Technology Process Wheel 3. Planning and Production.
Planning how to construct the final product, and how you are going to achieve that. Plus the final production, the steps you take to make the final product.
Technology Process Wheel 4. Evaluation.
Discussing how you achieved the final product, what you have done, how you did it and what you would change. Also if things didn’t go to plan, state how you over came that situation.
