The purpose to this endorsement is to expand the definition of insured person for the purpose of third party liability when operating a non owned or other automobile. The standard working restricts the wording to named insured and spouse only

What is SEF 3 and what is the purpose for this endorsement?

A

SEF 3 - GOVERNMENT- OWNED AUTOMOBILES

when an insured also drives a government owned automobile a special situation arises because the federal government is not required to carry automobile insurance. The insured may have his or her owners policy endorsed with government owned automobiles endorsement to provide coverage against liability imposed by law or assumed under contract or agreement for loss or damage arising from one of the perils insured against. The perils are specified in the Endorsement and are the same as those set out in the owners policy.

What is SEF 4A, 4B ? What is the purpose for them?

SEF 4A, 4B - PERMISSION TO CARRY EXPLOSIVES; PERMISSION TO CARRY RADIOACTIVE SUBSTANCES

4A - one endorsement is designed to counter at least in part the effect of one of the general exclusions under section 1 of the owners policy. Permission is granted to carry specific types of explosives and coverage is granted for specific sections of the policy while the explosives or incendiary power of the type of explosive to be carried

4B - another endorsement similar to the one above grants permission to carry radioactive materials

SEF 5 5C - PERMISSION TO RENT OR LEASE(SPECIFIED LESSEES) , PERMISSION TO RENT OR LEASE ( UNSPECIFIED LESSEES)

  • dishonest claim of ownership
  • an illegal disposal or theft of the automobile by anyone who has legal possession of it under a written agreement

The conversion endorsement amends that exclusion to specify that it excludes loss or damage resulting from “ a written agreement except a lease”
