Why do they have the Seder Meal?
The seder meal reminds Jews of how they were set free from Egypt long ago.
Each food on the plate represents a part of the story Moses and the Exodus from Egypt.
What are three different meals on the seder plate?
Bitter herbs
Salt water
Lamb bone
Parsley
Roasted egg
Matzvah
Charoset
What does the matzvah represent?
Represents the speed with which they had to leave Egypt.
What does the roasted egg represent?
A new life after Egypt.
What does the salt water represent?
Tears of Israelites slaves in Egypt.
What does the lamb bone represent?
The lamb sacrificed at Passover.
What does the charoset represent?
The mortar used by slaves to make bricks.
What does the parsley represent?
Fresh start.
What does the bitter herbs represent?
The bitter times of slavery.
