this is a program that looks harmless and tricks you into running it on your computer. it then carries out its real task, for example, displaying advert on the desktop or installing unwanted toolbars.

the software that enables a hacker to get control of your computer

a malicous program that takes control of your computer and uses it to diallers expensive phone numbers
scareware
scareware is a false security software that tries to scare the user into buying it by warning of some threat to the system
keylogger
a keylogger is a program designed to track and moniter the users keystrokes, often used to steal passwords, credit carddetails etc
spyware
spyware programs gather info like personal details from your computer
operating system exploits
a malicious code that takes advantage of weakness in your operating system

infected files which come from a file sharing website

an attemped to get your personal details such as bank details

when people steal personal details and pretened to be you
