Remind the person that they are not free to leave and if they attempt to leave they may be stopped.
Don’t do this if you are by yourself. If you are a dog handler, this is where you mention the dog is there for your protection and if they attempt to run, the dog MAY take it as a sign of aggression.
DON’T elaborate on that point, let it simmer in their heads.
Ask some questions.

- where are you from.?
This will lead into obtaining ID.
This is where we play word games a,one with associated body language. Do you have any ID on you.? Right at the point they answer yes, we signal them with a sign of “show me it”, you can also answer really quickly “give us a look” BUT NOT “Show me your ID”

Once ID is given, your arrest is complete. If they do not give you, or they don’t have any on them, then we move onto asking and recording at the same time their details into your notebook.
HOWEVER, before you write, you give them an ‘informed warning’ which refers to Trespassing.*
It sounds like “I must inform you, as a representative of this property, it is an offence to provide me with false particulars.”
If they are legislation, tell them it’s under the Inclosed Lands Protection Act.
Then record the POI’s details, and any property found upon the person, in your notebook.
