- Firewalls-stops unwanted traffic and can block users and IP addresses
- MAC address filtering-stops devices accessing network but user can use different device
- Encryption- makes data unreadable without key or software.

- removable data- theft and virus
- social engineering- manipulating people to give personal data
- shouldering/shoulder surfing-gaining access by observation
- Blagging- recklessly obtaining or disclosing personal data without consent of owner
Online ways to access data
- Default or weak passwords no unique passwords
- phising- emails designed to steal money, get login details and identity
- pharming- Redirecting website traffic to another similar DNS server
Define Malware
Refers to a variety of farms of hostile or intrusive software
Define Spyware
Software that gathers information on personal or organisations( tracks you)-Illegal
Define Adware
Analyses user visited sites and sends adverts-LEGAL
Define trojan
When the user does something e.g. Click a link will start a different protocol and add malware in your computer
Define Computer Virus
Installed onto a computer without permission and is sometimes annoying
