Crockett stats
estimates that in 1998, 40% or more of the adult population of Britain attended church on sundays
Wilson stats
- about 5% of the adult population attended church on sunday in 2015
- sunday attendance fell from 1.8 mil in 1960 to under 0.8 mil in 2013
Census stats
church, weddings and baptisms remain more popular than attendance at Sunday services but the trend still decreases
1967 - 60% of weddings were in the church, but by 2012 the proportion was only 30%
Between 1965 and 2011 - number of weddings in Catholic churches fell by 75%
