When a CYP is in need of care/protection:
•When caregivers are unable/unwilling to look after CYP
•Child aged 10-13 committing offences which cause serious concern
•CYP out of control, refuse to obey instructions

If I find CYP unaccompanied, where there physical/mental health could be impaired I can:
•With there consent - Take to parents
•Without consent or caregiver unwilling to take - Place into OT custody
Section 10b - SUMMARY OFFENCES ACT 1981

•Without making reasonable provision for supervision of CYP
•For an unreasonable time, or under unreasonable circumstances

Necessary to arrest CYP when:
•Witness/Victim safety
•Ensure appearance in court
•Prevent further offending
