Advantages
- comparisons easily made
- can be very flexible
Disadvantages
-you may need knowledge of the location

- straight forward
- more coverage of the study area can be covered
Disadvantages
- can be more biased
- can read to under representation of an area
Advantages/disadvantages of random sampling
Advantages
- unbiased
- no personal selection or judgement
Disadvantages
- might be time consuming
- some areas don’t get sampled
