Documents of a dogs linage and how many times they have been bred and had offspring.
Where can you find reputable breeders for purebreds?
AKC website
What is conformation showing?
Purebred dogs are judged on breed standards for the best representation of the breed.
Standards can be changed by the breeds club then adopted by AKC.
What is the Agility event?
An obstacle course race handlers direct their dogs through.
Judged on time and accuracy
What is obedience events?
Tests ability to follow obedience cues
What is tracking events
Tests ability to locate object with scents
What is a Rally event?
A course containing signs that indicate the different exercises on owner and dog must preform.
What is a herding event?
Tests ability to move a group of animals from one place to another.
What is lure coursing?
Involves dogs chasing mechanically operated lure.
What is the Hunt Test?
Tests hunting abilities like finding and flushing out game.
