Section 2.4 Flashcards
For synthetic division, the divisor must be in the form what?
(x-c)
You start by taking how many degrees less of the first term when applying coefficients to your anwser.
1 degree.
In synthetic division, you take the c and do what when doing the division?
You take the opposite sign of c.
To find f(2) in a polynomial you do synthetic division and what term is equal to f(2)?
The remainder or the last term.
When asked for the solution set of a polynomial and one of the zero’s is given how do you solve for the equation?
If one of the zero’s is given then you know one of the factors is x +1. You then divide using synthetic division from the factor to the polynomial. Once you solve the sythetic division you factor the solution.
