To show that Gods Sabbath is his seal, and that when kept it is an outward sign of loyalty towards him. (In this section pay close attention to Romans 4:11 because it shows that the words "sign" and "seal" are used interchangeably in the bible.
REVELATION 7:1-3
And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.
And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,
Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.
ROMANS 4:11
And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised
EXODUS 31:13
Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the Lord that doth sanctify you.
EZEKIEL 20:20
And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the Lord your God.
