Some words NEED “ es “ to make them plural. Name the 4 types of ending to a word where “ es “ is ADDED.
Give examples.

- sh ( eyelashES )
- s ( glassES )
- x ( foxES )
If a word ends with a VOWEL ( A, E, I, O, U ) followed by a “ y “ what do you ADD to get the plural.
Give examples.
Just add “ s”

If a word ends with a CONSONANT followed by a “ y “ what do you ADD to get the plural .
Give examples.
DROP the “ y “ ADD “ ies”

If a word ends with either a ch , sh , s or x what do you ADD to make the word plural?
Give examples.
Just ADD “ es”
