-Sections called the ileum and jejunum absorb
digested nutrients such as fatty acids, amino
acids and small carbohydrates.
-Moves the digested foods along while mixing
them with secretion from the pancreas and
liver.
-Celiac, Crohn’s disease and IBS (irritable bowal
disease) are associated with this organ.

-Absorbs water, processes and packages waste
for disposal.
-Bloating, constipation and appendicitis are
associated with this organ.
