Diminishing of epidermal surface
Skin is thinner, more translucent
May result in wasting or depression
Excoriated
Loss of outer layers from scratching
Crust
A collect of Clear crust and debris on the surface of damaged or absent layers
Scale
Compact desquamating corneum
Varying in size and thickness
Flaking eg dandruff
Thick eg psoriasis
Lichenification
Rough thickening of epidermis
With increased furrows eg chronic dermatitis
Keloid
Augmentation of scar tissue
