What are the clinical features?
Similar to PBC
Additional symptoms corresponding to the underlying condition
Poor prognosis
Which lab tests are done for SBC?
Increased ALP, GGT and conjugated bilirubin

What are the associated conditions with SBC
May lead to ascending cholangitis
What is the aetiology of SBC?
Prolonged partial or total obstruction of the common bile duct or its major branches
Can be caused by chronic pancreatitis or malignant tumours of the common bile duct
basically anything that scan cause chronic obstruction of the common bile duct
What are the signs and symptoms fort SBC?
Jaundice and pruritis are most common features
Fever sand RUQ pain
Portal hypertension
what is the diagnosis for SBC?
Cholangiography usually demonstrates the underlying cause
Liver biopsy
Treatment?
Relief of obstruction to bile flow by either surgical or endoscopic means
