What does adrenaline come as
1mg/1ml
What is the route, dose, Initial Volume of dose, syringe and repeat for Adrenaline to treat anaphylaxis or life threatening asthma
Route = IM
Dose = 0.5mg
IVoD = 0.5ml (1:1000)
Syringe = 3ml
Repeat = 5 mins no max
What is the route, dose, Initial Volume of dose, syringe and repeat for Adrenaline to treat Cardiac Arrest
Route = IV
Dose = 1mg
IVoD = 1ml (1:1000)
Syringe = 10ml
Repeat = 3-5 mins, every second loop
What is the route, dose, Initial Volume of dose, syringe and repeat for Adrenaline to treat Post ROSC
Route = IV
Dose = 50mcg
IVoD = 0.5ml (1:10000)
Syringe = 10ml
Repeat = As required until BP>90mmHg (post 2x 250ml
saline boluses)
What are the contraindications for Adrenaline
None
What does Amiodorone come as
150mg/3ml
What is the indication for amioderone
Cardiac arrest (persistant/shock resistance VF/VT post 3 shocks)
what is the route, dose, IVoD, syringe and repeat for amioderone
Route = IV
Dose = 300mg
IVoD = 6ml
Syringe = 10ml
Repeat = 150mg/3mls after 5 shocks
what are the contraindications for amioderone
None for cardiac arrest
What is the indication for Aspirin
ACS (Acute Coronary Syndrome)
what is the Route, Dose, IVoD and repeat for aspirin
Route = PO (chew it)
Dose = 300mg
IVoD = 1 tablet
Repeat = single dose
what are the contraindications of Aspirin
- known hypersensitivity to aspirin or other salicylates
2. Children < 12 years old
how does Cophenylcaine come
comes as lignocaine 50mg/ml, phenylephrine 5mg/m
What is the indication for Cophenylcaine
epistaxis, oral haemorrhage, local pain (abrasions)
what is the Route, Dose, IVoD and repeat for cophenylcaine
Route = IN, PO
Dose: IN= 10sprays,
PO = 5 sprays
IVoD = 1 spray
Repeat: IN = max 5 sprays,
PO = Max 1- sprays
what are the contraindications of cophenylcaine
- hypersensitivity to lignocaine, phenylephrine or other salicylates
- pregnancy
- children < 2 years
what is the indication for Fentanyl Citrate
moderate to severe pain
what does fentanyl citrate come as
100mcg/2ml IV
what is the route of administration for Fentanyl Citrate
IV
What is the dose and initial volume of dose for Fentanyl Citrate
< 70 yrs = 1mvg/kg (max 100mcg)
> 70 yrs = 0.5mcg/kg (max 50mcg)
IVoD = weight based
what is the dilution, syringe and repeat for fentanyl citrate
dilution = add 8 mls NaCl to make 100mcg in 10 mls
Syringe = 10 mls
Repeat = 25mcg after 5 mins
what are the contraindications of Fentanyl and Fentanyl Citrate
- Hypersensitivity
- < 1 yr of age (IV/IO only)
- Occluded nasal passages or epistaxis (IO only)
What is the indication for Fentanyl
moderate to severe pain
What is the dose and IVoD of fentanyl
Small elderly or frail = 120mcg *
Adult = 180mcg **
IVoD = 2x 0.2ml *
3x 0.2ml**

Syringe = 1ml
Repeat = 60mcg after 5 mins
Indications of Glucagon
Hypoglycaemia 3rd line agent

Route = IM
Dose = 1mg
IVoD = 1ml
Dilution = use hypokit
Syringe = 1ml
repeat = 5 mins repeat once
