Oedipus thinks that Creon and Tiresias are plotting to overthrow him- paranoid

Creon is calm to Oedipus’ accusations and recognises that he has no evidence

“Judge me on the facts”
Creon doesn’t want to be king
“I’m not the man to yearn for kingship”
Creon has the power and the privilege without being the king
“ privilege outright”
Jocasta is paternal
“Into the palace now”
Jocasta is respected by Oedipus
“Do it for me, for the sake oof all your people”
The chorus believe and respect Creon
“Believe it, be sensible/give way,my king, i beg you!”
Oedipus response to the chorus being on creons side at the end of the Kommos
“It’s you, not him, i pity-your words move me”
Jocasta delivers ironic statements as she is describing the truth
“ that doom would strike him down at he hands of a son, our son, to be born of our own flesh and blood. But Laius,/so the report goes at least, was killed by strangers”
Oedipus starts to have a realisation
“I thought i heard you say that Laius/ was cut down at a place where three roads meet”
Oedipus realises that he murdered Laius
J: “his build… wasn’t far from yours”
O: “I’ve just called down a dreadful curse”
Jocasta and Oedipus relationship is loving
“I’ll send at once. But do lets go inside./Id never displease you, least of all in this”
