SDGs Flashcards
2: End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture
More food needed using fewer resources, reduce environmental impact of growing and distributing this food, identify new ways to grow food, extract plant growth limiting resources and ensure farming systems are resilient to perturbations and pests
6: Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all
More potable water needed, reduce wastage of water, ensure clean water is not contaminated, grow crops that have less dependency on external water supplies and ensure households have sewage systems
7: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all
Less dependence on non-renewable resources, ensure renewable resources genuinely are renewable and better distribution of energy resources
11: Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable
Ensure cities have clean environment (air, water, greenspace and noise), ensure clean water is available, conservation of greenbelts, use of brown-field sites. Carbon neutral? Urban agriculture?
12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns
Finding smart ways of using existing resources, reduce wastage, recycle and reuse, ensure strong policy incentives to promote sustainable consumption
13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts
Shift away from GHG- emitting processes (particularly energy), remember soil, new technologies (batteries), quantification of multifactorial impacts and nature-based solutions
14: Conserve and sustainable use the oceans, sea and marine resources for sustainable development
Meta-ecosystem concept, holt pollution, explore new species and research the link between fisheries and climate change
15: Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainable manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss
Habit restoration, research into the importance of biodiversity, protection of soil
