On Candidates return to the lodge what do we do?
take the candidate, instruct him to salute the WM as EA & take to the kneeling stool
What happens after the prayer?
Take the candidate to the JW and say
“Advance to the JW as such showing the Sign and communicating the Token of an EA”,
followed by grip and token chat
What happens after first seeing JW?
We pass the SW Chair, wait for the WM to speak.
What happens after the WM Speaks?
Head to JW, and say “Advance to the SW as such showing the Sign and communicating the Pass Grip and Password you received from the WM previously to leaving the lodge
Salute as EA
When with the SW, what does he ask for and what do we do after?
what we have to communicate - the grip, and say what it is;
The pass grip leading from the First to the Second Degree”
What is the password?
Shibboleth
What does the password denote?
Plenty
How is it depicted?
By and ear of corn near to a fall of water
What do we do after finishing with SW
Listen to WM & SW, then proceed to the East.
What is said whilst advancing to the East?
The proper method of advancing from West to East in this degree is by Five regular steps as if ascending a winding staircase, for your information I will go first, afterwards you will copy me.
What happens after advancing to the East?
End up at the WM Pedestal & prepare the candidate ensuring his hand is on the VSL
What happens once the candidate has been obligated?
Tale the candidate to the WM Pedestal & tell the candidate to advance as an EA.
Then assist Candidate repeating WM’s instruction
What happens after the WM gives the candidate the passwords & grips
Head to JW & say
“I present to you Brother … on his being passed to the Second Degree”
then do the grip and passwords as requested by JW
How do you respond when asked for the password?
I was taught to be cautious in this degree as well as in the former; I will letter or halve it with you.
What happens after being passed by the JW.
Head over to the SW and say
“I present to you Brother … on his being passed to the Second Degree”
