What is the Product Owner responsible for?

They are also the sole responsible person for managing the product backlog.

Clearly expressing backlog items
Ordering the items in the product backlog
Optimizing the value of the work performed by the development team
Ensuring that the product backlog is visible and shows what will be worked on next
Ensuring the development team understands items in the product backlog
What is the Development Team responsible for?
The development team is responsible for delivering a potentially releasable increment of ‘done’
Who organizes the Development Team?
No one except for the development team themselves
Do each of the Development Team members have titles?
No, scrum does not recognize individual titles for the Development Team
Do sub-teams exist in the Development Team?
No, scrum does not recognize sub-teams
How big should the Development Team be?
More than 3 people, but no more than 9 people

The Scrum Master is responsible for promoting and supporting scrum
They also help individuals outside of the Scrum team understand how to effectively interact with the scrum team as to maximize efficiency
How does the Scrum Master serve the Product Owner?
Ensuring that goals, scope, and product domain are understood by everyone on the Scrum Team
Finding techniques for effective Product Backlog management
Helping the Scrum Team understand the need for clear and concise Product Backlog items
Understanding product planning in an empirical environment
Ensuring the Product Owner knows how to arrange the Product Backlog to maximize value
Understanding and practicing agility
Facilitating Scrum events as requested or needed.
How does the Scrum Master serve the Development Team?
Coaching the Development Team in self-organization and cross-functionality
