What is a Scrum Artifact?
A way to think about the work that is being done by the Scrum team.
What is the main shared characteristic of a Scrum Artifact?
They are very visible so all stakeholders understand what’s being done and what is given priority.
What are the three artifacts of Scrum?
- Product Backlog
- Sprint Backlog
- The increment
What is the Product Backlog?
A list of work made up of Tasks, epics, stories, bugs, enhancements. The specific work types listed here are examples of work types.
What are Epics?
Large amounts of work that can be broken down into smaller user stories, tasks, etc.
What is a User Story?
Individual work items of an Epic that tells the developer to understand the need of a product or service.
What is the Sprint Backlog?
The individual work items that make up a sprint
Who owns and defines the Sprint Backlog?
The development team.
When is a Sprint Backlog generated?
Between sprints during the sprint planning session
True or False: A poorly planned sprint backlog is detrimental to development?
False: While Sprint planning is important, it is difficult to plan perfectly and gets easier with time and experience.
What is an increment?
All the work that has been completed during a sprint, and all the related work completed in previous sprints.
What defines “done” for work?
Work is done when the organization agrees it’s done.
When is work done if the organization doesn’t say it’s done?
The team must agree it’s complete by creating a common understanding of what done is.
