Colorectal screening
Average risk
iFOBT every 2 years 50-74
PLUS
Low dose aspirin 100-300mg daily for at least 2.5 yrs (50-70)
LOW increased risk CRC - qualifiers
Normal population
One 1st degree
OR
One 1st degree AND one 2nd degree >55
MODERATE increased risk CRC qualifiers
1st degree <55
Two 1st degrees any age
One 1st degree, plus two 2nd degrees any age
Moderate risk CRC actions & screening
- Aspirin 100-300mg for at least 2.5 yrs (50-70)
- iFOBT every 2yrs 40-49
- Colonoscopy every 5yrs from 50- 74
HIGH risk CRC qualifiers
Asymptomatic:
- three 1st degrees or 2nd degrees (with at least 1 <55)
- Three 1st degrees at any age
-High risk familial syndromes (eg lynch)
-A family member who has a lynch syndrome related cancer
- Familial polyposis sydnrome
HIGH risk CRC actions
iFOBT every 2yrs 35-45
Colonoscopy every 5yrs from 45 -74
Referral to family cancer clinic for genetic risk assessment
Breast cancer screening
Mammogram every 2 years from 50- 64
Consider annual mammograms from 40 in anyone with 1st degree <50

Mammogram every 2 years from 50- 74
Consider annual mammograms from 40 in anyone with 1st degree <50
FLAG CHEAT SHEET RULE (breast ca)
- Two relatives same side = 1 flag
- First degree relative = 1 flag
- Age <50 = 1 flag
ONE flag = average risk
TWO flags= Moderate risk
