a predetermined point on the ground used to control movement, tactical maneuver, and orientation. CPs are a means of control between a patrol and its higher headquarters
rally point
a point on the ground where a patrol assembles and reorganizes if dispersed or separated. A rally point should be easily recognizable, have good cover and concealment, and be defendable for a short time.
objective rally point
located nearest the objective where the patrol makes final preparations prior to approaching the objective. It also serves as a location where the patrol reassembles after completing actions on the objective
