Reputation ment everything in Victorian society and leading the proper Christian life

What are some Victorian values
- gentle and ladies lived by strict rules about what was proper

- Manners and behaviour had to conform importance
- sex was seen as vaulter and was unspoken of
What was science and religion in the Victorian era like
- the Victorian era was a time of great scientific discovery and technological advances
- all life had gone through evolution was discovered
- people found evolution hard to believe as they thought they were better than others ( especially the wealthy people )
Who is dr Jekyll
he is a doctor and a scientist who is a long time friend of mr utterson and dr lanyon. Jekyll as seen as tall and handsome which is the opposite to his other side mr Hyde ( mr Hyde and dr Jekyll are technically the same person) . Jekyll has been experimenting with separating his personality into the good and evil side and becomes successful in this which is how mr Hyde is created . He is looked down upon by other scientists due to his practices and he ends up loosing dr Layton as a friend due to this .
Who is mr utterson
He is a lawyer who is loyal to his friends and will stick by them through everything. He is also seen as uptight and boring. He is long time friends with Dr Jekyll and Dr Layon. He starts to worry about Jekyll when he sees the odd changes that Jekyll has made to his will and starts to investigate what is going on with Jekyll recently as he hasn’t seen him around as much as he used to.
Who is mr Hyde
Mr Hyde is the bad side of Jekyll personality that Jekyll has managed to split due to his experiments. Mr Hyde is all the bad in dr Jekyll and when we first meet mr Hyde he is seen as short and ugly ( which is the opposite to jekyll ) due to evil only being a small part of Jekyll but as mr Hyde does more bad things he continues to grow and Jekyll starts to get smaller until he can no longer go back to being Dr Jekyll and he is only mr Hyde which in the end leads to both of them dying as they are technically the same person.
