Score Builders Test 1 Flashcards
Scales of sensation, balance, and mmt are examples of what scale of measurement?
Ordinal scale
Gender , blood type, and diagnosis are examples of what measurement scale?
Nominal scale
They are used as labels of identification, but have no quantitative value
Temperature measured on the Celsius and Fahrenheit scale’s are examples of what measurement scale?
Interval scale
No true zero point, have intervals between units of measurement
Document elbow ROM which begins at 15 degrees of flexion and ends at 90 degrees of flexion
15-90
Document elbow ROM which starts at 15 degrees of hyperextension and ends at 90 degrees of flexion.
15-0-90
This pnf technique is used to increase range of motion. As The extremity reaches the point of limitation the patient performs a maximal contraction of the antagonistic muscle group. The therapist resist the movement followed by relaxation and passive movement into the newly gained range of motion.
Contract relax
What kind of end-feel would spasticity of the biceps tend to produce during elbow extension in a patient with a traumatic brain injury?
Firm
Oh produce bony
Glenohumeral capsular pattern
Er, abd, ir
What is the most common schedule for hemodialysis?
3x per week for 4 hrs
The problem list is located in what part of the soap note?
A
Which therapeutic exercise technique is the signed supersymmetry contraction and stability through the joint compression?
Approximation
Which therapeutic exercise technique is indicated when there is instability in weight-bearing, poor static postural control, and or weakness?
Alternating isometrics
What is ankylosing spondylitis?
Form of systemic rheumatic arthritis that results in inflammation of the axial skeleton with subsequent back pain.
What condition is associated with an increase in thoracic kyphosis and loss of the lumbar curve?
Ankylosing spondylitis
What treatment recommendations would you give a patient diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis?
Strengthening of back extensors, and limiting the forward bending
What is the sign of buttock test?
The sign of buttock test is used to determine if the patients butt pain has its origin in the butt or is referred pain from the hip sciatic nerve or hamstring muscles. The therapist administers the test by completing a straight leg raise to the patients point of limitation. The therapist then flexes the knee and assesses the amount of hip flexion. If the amount of hip flexion does not increase, the test is considered to be positive for buttock pathology( gluteal bursitis, tightness of the glut max, tightness of the posterior capsule.
A pt with quad weakness will show what compensation during the heel strike to foot flat?
Leaning the trunk forward because it reduces the flexion moment at the knee
What bong landmark should be used to measure the distance the pt reached during a function reach test?
Third metacarpal
Pt young and strong suffered fractured tibia and brachial plexus injury. The are partial weight bearing on the l le.
Loftstrand crutches
Walker too much stability
Crutches not enough to mainly used for balance
An athlete is forced to decide whether he wants to go through with acl reconstruction surgery. Which situation provides the most direct support for an acl reconstruction?
Functional instability
What screening tool should be administered for a pt in a long term care setting, rehab , or Home health and want to test ability to perform a variety of adls
Barthel index
Scores range from 0-100 in increments of 5
What grade of balance would you give a pt that can accept max perturbations In all direction
Normal
What grade of balance would you give pt that can accept mod perturbation
Good
What grade of balance would you give pt that can maintain balance without support but can’t accept weight shifts or any external perturbations
Fair
