What is scope of practice?
Our specific area of practice. Things that we can and cannot do as a nurse
What is the aim of NCNZ?
To protect the health + safety of the public by ensuring nurses are competent and permitted by law to practice
What is delegation?
Transfer of authority from one person to another to carry out specific activities. Person who delegates is responsible for any outcomes
What is direction?
Active process of guiding, monitoring and evaluating activities performed by another. Direction is provided directly on indirectly
Using the decision making framework, what questions should you be asking yourself?
Educated? Authorised? Competent?
What is an EN?
A nurse that practices under the direction and delegation of a RN or NP to deliver nursing care.

Being person-centred, honest and respectful. Maintaining a caring relationship without crossing the professional boundaries

Knowledge that is measurable and observable. Empirical knowing
